How to register to be part of ZEST Midwives

ZEST Midwives is a one-stop, vibrant community of the most highly skilled Midwives, MaMas, Doulas, Birth Workers and Student Midwives nationwide. We offer a range of registration packages to suit your needs whether you’re just dipping a toe into independent midwifery are currently training or are in the process of setting up your fully independent practice.

How it works

By joining ZEST, you are joining our community of like minded Midwives, MaMas, Birth Workers and Students. We offer a range of benefits including exclusive practical training, discounts for courses run by Zest and other partners, advocacy, ongoing support and much more.

When you register as an independent or private midwife under the FULL package you also gain exclusive access to insurance via our partners to be able to offer the full continuum of care. You can then practice completely independently running your own midwifery business adhering to the “kindness, quality and safety collaborative” that is Zest.

Zest is not an insurance provider but Zest registration enables you to purchase exclusive indemnity insurance via our partners.

Attend Engagement and Enrolment Day

The Zest Engagement and Enrolment Day© is your “set up day” where you will meet our directors (online) and go through your paperwork, verify your documents, meet other registrants, have some training, discuss insurance, your roles, partnerships and so much more.

Attend the Manditory Practical Training

Our MPT days are held quarterly in the North (Ellesmere Port) and the South (Hemel Hempstead).
The MPT “Safe and Skilled at Home” – Community Birth Challenges© aims to improve knowledge surrounding childbirth challenges in the community. It has been adapted to explore the unique challenges pertinent to independent midwives and birth workers who work in the community, rather than in a hospital setting.

This option is for Independent Midwives offering birth services and the full continuum of care to their clients. Once Zest registered you will be able to access exclusive insurance through our partners.
Insured midwives are able to have a birth attendent such as a MaMa or doula also in attendance at birth.
